Ibrahimovic’s Career
Zlatan Ibrahimovic began his career as a player for Malmo FF, way back in 1999. Two years later, he was signed up for Ajax. It was during this time at Ajax in which he built up a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising soccer players.
Two years later, Ibrahimovic departed from Ajax and was signed up to Juventus. In 2006, however, he was moved to Inter Milan, who are dometic rivals of Juventus.
During this period is when Ibrahimovic’s career began to really take off, and he began to build his reputation as one of best forwards of all time. During his time at Inter Milan, he won three Serie A titles in a row.
In 2009, during the summer, Ibrahimovic then moved to Barcaelona. This move is famously one of the most costly transfers to ever take place in soccer.
This move from Inter Millan to Barcelona is still today the 36th most expensive soccer transfer to ever take place. It cost 74.3 million euros. This is the equivalent of 73.8 million US dollars.
However, after completing just a single season, Ibrahimovic returned to the rival team, Milan. Here, in his debut season, he went on to win the Serie A title.
Two years later, in 2012, Ibrahimovic went on to join Paris Saint-Germain, where he helped to take them to their first Ligue 1 win in over 10 years.
This helped Ibrahimovic establish himself as one of the most significant figures regarding the team’s dominance over French soccer.
He stayed with this team for four seasons, and his time here was enormously successful. He helped the team win four Ligue 1 titles in a row.
During this time, for three out of the four seasons that he stayed with the team, he was the top Ligue 1 scorer.
It was during this time that he also became Paris Saint-Germain’s all time top goal scorer, scoring more goals during those four seasons than any other player that had ever been a member of the team.
Ibrahimovic stayed with the French team for four years. However, in 2016, he moved on. In 2016 he joined the Manchester United team.
In contrast to his hugely lucrative transfer from Milan to Barcelona, this transfer was done at no cost. In his first season with Manchester United, he was awarded with his first European trophy.
Ibrahimovic remained a player for Manchester United for 2 years. In 2018, however, he moved to an American club, LA Galaxy.
He finally went back to Milan in 2020. As a member of this team, he impressively won his 5th Serie A title in 2022.
Other Achievements
Ibrahimovic has made over 100 appearances playing for the Swedish national team. He accomplished reaching 100 matches in only 20 years.

The reason behind this is that the soccer player began his career in 1999. This means that, even though he was only a soccer player for one year out of ten of this decade, he technically played during the decade of 1990-1999.
Since he scored numerous goals during this time, this means he technically scored goals during this decade.
Through his 23 year career, Ibrahimovic then went on to continue playing soccer professionally.
He was a player throughout the decades of 2000-2009, 2010-2019, also continues to play through the decade we are currently in.
