Soccer Rebounding Trainer Review

We all have to start somewhere. When you pick up a new hobby, you’re never going to be a whizz kid straight away, and the same goes for soccer.

Sure, kicking a ball around may seem simple enough, but if you want to become a skilled player, you’ll need to master a few set skills before you get there. If you struggle with tricks or ball handling, it may be time to invest in a soccer trainer.

Soccer Trainer Review

In this post, we’ll be introducing you to one of our favorite soccer training products ever: the soccer trainer with an adjustable belt.

Whether you’re new to the game or you want to brush up on your skills, this trainer is a real all-rounder that can be used by adults and kids alike.

What Is A Soccer Trainer?

For clarity, when we say ‘soccer trainer’ in this article, we’re not talking about a coach. We’re talking about a specifically designed device that helps you keep control of the ball and practice your soccer skills, all while the ball is still attached to you.

These soccer trainers (sometimes called sports assistance adjustable trainers) come with a belt that wraps around your waist, and a robust, elasticated string that attaches the ball to your waist via a secure pouch.

You’ll often see kids in training using these, but they can also be used for adults, too.

Soccer Training Sports Assistance Review

This soccer training aid is stylish, affordable, and durable, making it the perfect choice for players of all levels. Note: this model does NOT include the ball.

This soccer trainer is made from nylon elastic and has a tile length of 2.5m and a stretch length of 5m. So, if you want to practice shooting and receiving the ball, you can shoot it quite a distance with this trainer!

The waist belt is fully adjustable and is secured in place with a velcro fastening. The stretch rope is secured to the front of the belt and attached to the wrap-around pouch that secures the ball.

The ball is simply placed inside the pouch, and all five ends of the security wrap are secured at the top with another velcro fastening.

We found this soccer belt easy to set up – it only takes a few minutes to attach all of the kit together, making it a convenient choice for busy players.

The elastic strap is strong and secures the ball thoroughly – even if you’re shooting the ball at long distances, the extra strain on the rope does not make the ball shake loose.

Pros And Cons

Here are some of our personal pros and cons of using the soccer trainer:

Pros

  • Fully adjustable waistband: Thanks to its adjustable fastenings, this trainer offers a secure fit for both adults and children
  • Forgiving rope: The elasticated rope is pretty forgiving. It’s designed to be stretched to the max, so you can practice shooting and receiving the ball at long distances, without the risk of your rope breaking
  • Secure fastenings: The ball is secured with five wrap-around arms, which never fail to keep it in place securely
  • Easy to assemble: This three-piece kit is easy to assemble. Once you’ve attached the elasticated rope to the waistband at the security arms for the ball, you’ll never have to take it apart again, unless you want to!

Cons

  • Velcro can wear over time: Although velcro is secure, it can wear easily over time. Store your trainer away from excess fluff to prevent the velcro from losing its grip

Soccer Trainer: Is It Worth It?

What exactly is the point of a soccer trainer? Who can use them, and is this one worth it?

If you do a lot of solo training, you’ll probably find a soccer trainer to be a great investment. With this soccer trainer, you’ll be able to practice skills you wouldn’t be able to do on your own, especially shooting and passing.

The elasticated string always ensures the ball is within reach, and it’ll shoot it straight back to you whenever you kick it, giving you more time to practice those all important-skills, even when you’re on your own.

A soccer trainer can also help you practice (and eventually master) a variety of other sills, including:

  • Keep ups
  • Ball control
  • Throw-ins
  • Passing
  • Dribbling

These skills are at the heart of soccer, and whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, you’ll need to master them. This makes the soccer trainer a great choice for newbies and experienced players, as well as adults and kids.

However, soccer trainers are particularly great for children. The soccer trainer encourages daily practice (even when playing solo), and because the ball is secured with the rope, it reduces the risk of damage to your property if they get a little carried away with the game!

We tested this soccer trainer ourselves, and with kids, too. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we loved how easy it was to set up, and how secure it was to use.

Our only word of warning would be that if you’re using a light ball, the lack of weight can cause it to shoot back at you pretty fast. We’d recommend using a heavier ball, and supervising children while using this product.

Overall, though, this trainer takes solo practice to a whole new level, and it’ll change the game for adults, kids, experienced players, and complete novices. It’s a small initial investment that will serve you well, so really, there’s no reason not to give this a go!

Final Thoughts

Whether you want to diversify your solo sessions, improve your football skills, or stop the kids from damaging your property during a kickabout, the soccer trainer is an excellent choice.

Diverse, secure, forgiving and cost-effective, it’s a great way to master those all-important soccer skills, improve confidence, and take your appreciation of the game to a whole new level!
